Caden Tellier death: What happened to Alabama high school player?

Caden Tellier's death has shaken the high school football circuit in the country. The Alabama football player became a victim of football's ruthless nature on Friday after a tackle on the field took his life. The 16-year-old suffered a brain injury after the play and that proved to be fatal, according to CBS News.

The incident took place during the Morgan Academy's Friday night game against the Southern Academy in Selma. He was flown to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital right after the injury. Tellier's family took to social media to announce his death.

"Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face. We appreciate all of your prayers, and we covet them for the hard days ahead," the statement read, as per Facebook. "Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time. Lives have been touched by the way he lived and now lives will be saved through his passing."

Alabama Independent School Association Executive Director Michael McClendon talked about the youngster's death with CBS News and revealed that Tellier lost his life due to "a ruptured blood vessel in his brain."

The school is still in the process of acquiring further details of the incident, as per McClendon.

Morgan Academy's headmaster opened up about Caden Tellier's death

Tellier's cause of death was primarily brain damage after being tackled during the third quarter of the game.

The school's headmaster, Bryan Oliver, released a statement regarding the unfortunate incident that took place on Friday.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Caden Tellier has gone to be with his Lord and Savior," Oliver said in a statement on Facebook. "Caden loved the Lord with all his heart and was shining light every day he raced the halls of Morgan Academy. He was a student, a friend, an athlete and most important a Christ follower."

He further continued, "There are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family. We will come together and support Jamie, Arsella and Lyla with our whole hearts. We offer our deepest sympathy to the Tellier’s extended family as well."

Multiple other public and private schools came together to offer words of condolences to Tellier's family and the Morgan Academy.
