In a move that many have seen coming, five-star guard Meleek Thomas committed to John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Monday. This result was what many experts had predicted, but it does continue to prove Calipari's prowess as a recruiter and many fans agreed.

Calipari has recruited some of the biggest names in the NBA right now to play for him at the schools he coached for, including the likes of Anthony Davis, John Wall, Karl-Anthony Towns, Bam Adebayo, Jamal Murray and Devin Booker. Fans are praising him for landing yet another five-star recruit in Meleek Thomas in the comments, with some noting he chose Calipari, not the school.

Calipari had been the most aggressive when it came to recruiting Meleek Thomas, who was aware of the former Kentucky coach's record of producing NBA stars. The coach regularly flew to visit Thomas personally and watch his games. Arkansas edged out Pitt and UConn in Thomas' final three choices.

Meleek Thomas' commitment means Arkansas has two top-10 guards from the Class of 2025 already

Meleek Thomas is only the second top-10 five-star whom John Calipari has recruited from the Class of 2025, with the first being point guard Darius Acuff, with the two possibly forming an interesting backcourt in Arkansas. While Thomas is ranked by ESPN as the No. 9 recruit in the class, Acuff is ranked a little higher, at No. 8.

Acuff committed to Arkansas last July. Although Calipari wants more five-stars from the class, the coach is now setting his sights on No. 5-ranked Caleb Wilson, a power forward.

As for Thomas, he has been described as a scorer who also knows how to pass the ball. He is also quick, especially in transition, and he knows how to finish and is a confident ball handler.
