Parker High School, one of Alabama’s top-ranked football teams, suffered its first loss of the season in a 48-26 defeat to Carrollton. The matchup at Major Brown Memorial Stadium in Birmingham was highly anticipated, as Parker was expected to dominate, but Carrollton’s strong performance handed the second-ranked Class 6A team an unexpected defeat.
One of the highlights of the game came in the third quarter when Carrollton quarterback Julian Lewis executed a perfect fake that confused Parker's defense. Lewis then connected with Zion Cooley for a touchdown. The game itself was intense, but it wasn’t just Lewis’ playmaking skills that caught the attention of fans.
On the sidelines, ex-NFL star Cam Newton made an unexpected appearance. As a former Carolina Panthers quarterback and 2015 NFL MVP, Newton’s presence added star power to the night.
A video of the clip was uploaded by Sport Center Next and fans immediately spotted Newton.

Newton's involvement in high school football isn't just as a spectator, as he runs C1N, a program designed to develop the skills of young football players across the country. It hosts a 7v7 all-star team and offers camps, clinics and national competitions to help high school players improve their game.
A sneak peek at the Carrollton vs. Parker match
Carrollton's dominant victory over Parker was led by Julian Lewis, who threw for 159 passing yards and contributed two touchdowns. Despite the absence of their starting quarterback, Dylan Reese, Parker fought hard.
Parker's offensive struggles were compounded by special teams errors in the first quarter, which gave Carrollton a critical field position. The Trojans capitalized on these mistakes, scoring 14 points in both the first and second quarters. They added 7 more in the third and 13 in the final quarter to seal the victory.
On the other hand, Parker scored six points in the first quarter, 13 in the second and six more in the third, but couldn’t close the gap as they failed to score in the final period.
With this win, Carrollton remains undefeated and is set to face Westlake on Oct. 4. Meanwhile, Parker is now 4-1 and will look to rebound in their upcoming game against Hoover this Friday.
