Kiyan Anthony's dad, Carmelo Anthony, was in the NBA for 20 seasons. With the career he had, his son has received some spotlight, as he's expected to follow in his father's footsteps.
The four-star recruit was seen with his father at the University of Colorado football game on Oct. 12, with the pair wearing NHL jerseys. The Colorado Avalanche's social media team took to X to post a picture of the father-son duo and Carmelo Anthony retweeted it:
Anthony's tweet drew a lot of comments:
"Can’t wait to see your son in the nba," commented the fan.
Another fan wanted the Long Island Lutheran player to come to Syracuse:
"Ok I’m just going to ask. Can he PLEASE come to CUSE? I did ask nicely! Miss you Mello!," commented the fan.
"This fan was happy seeing the father-son duo wear the Colorado jersey, "I see the kid wearing my hometown love to the GOAT and the baby GOAT," said another fan.
Some other Melo fans considered him the "greatest player ever":
"Greatest player ever in my eyes," commented a fan.
"Greatest Nugget ever love you Mello," said another.
"Greatest player," commented one fan.
Kiyan Anthony is ranked at No. 36 in the 2025 ESPN 100 and has a scout grade of 87. Anthony ranks first in New York and eighth in his position.
Playing as a shooting guard in the Nike EYBL, Anthony averaged 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He displayed some tremendous shooting, with 25 points, 54% shooting from the field, and 57% from beyond the arc in a match against the PSA Cardinals.

While talking to 247Sports, Anthony stated when he would decide on a college:
"I'm trying to commit the first week of November," he said. "At this point, I'm just looking for my finalists to apply the ultimate pressure. Each of these schools text me, but I want them to let me know where I can fit in within the school, who else is coming at my position, and what they see for me."
His last official visit was to the USC Trojans on Sep. 26. According to On3's prediction machine, Syracuse has the highest chance of recruiting him (84.2%), followed by Florida State with a 6.9% prediction.
