Cameron Boozer, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Class of 2025, reached a rare career milestone on Saturday. The Christopher Columbus High School (Miami, FL) power forward scored his 2,000th career point during a game against Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY), becoming the first player in school history to achieve this feat.
Boozer accomplished the milestone in just four years with the Christopher Columbus Explorers.
Meanwhile, his father, former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, reacted to the accomplishment on Instagram.
"Proud of you ❤️," Boozer commented.
Meanwhile, the Explorers celebrated the achievement by posting it on one of its LED screens in its gym.
Cameron Boozer and his twin brother, Cayden, are regarded as one of the top duos in high school basketball. Cameron, a power forward, and Cayden, a point guard, have both committed to and signed with the Duke Blue Devils, following in the footsteps of their father, Carlos Boozer. Carlos won an NCAA national championship with Duke in 2001.
Cameron Boozer and the Christopher Columbus Explorers dominate Archbishop Stepinac
Archbishop Stepinac is considered one of the strongest teams in New York. This made their game against Columbus last Saturday one of the most anticipated matchups in the high school basketball calendar. However, it was a one-sided affair, with Cameron Boozer and the rest of the Crusaders rolling past them in a 31-point victory, 83-52.
This marks Christopher Columbus High School's 13th straight victory at home. They now have an 8-1 record, with this being their eighth straight victory this season.
Columbus faces one of the toughest schedules in high school basketball, boasting wins over Dynamic Prep, Wheeler and Gonzaga. The Explorers are set to compete in a tournament next, opening against Great Crossing on Thursday.
