Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, the twin sons of NBA star Carlos Boozer, have emerged as true high school basketball sensations. The No. 2 and No. 23 nationally ranked players, respectively, have earned recognition at both state and national levels.
The twins are now preparing for the Army National Guard basketball event called "The Main Event." The event hosted by MadeHoops is slated for Dec. 6-7 at Miami Dade College's Gibson Center Gymnasium.
In a video shared on the MadeHoops Instagram account on Dec. 3, Cameron and Cayden Boozer discussed their experiences playing basketball at the national level and overcoming the challenges they faced. Cameron talked about the crucial role of their Nightrydas Elite coach Andrew:
“Andrew started coaching our NightRydas team, and he really believed in us, and he saw the same vision we had to start playing on a national level,"shared the 6-foot-9 forward.
Cameron Boozer said that some people didn't believe in them when they were in middle school playing at the national level. However, Andrew had the same vision as the Boozer twins right from the start.
“He was willing to take the risk and bring us on, and since then we have played a national schedule, and since then we have played a schedule, there’s really no reason to leave,” he added.
Cayden Boozer had a similar opinion about it.
“We wanted to build a legacy, do something special, you know. We wanted to do something different, kind of create our own path, and I think we have done really great with that,” he said.
“Everything I am doing here is what the other prep schools are doing, so we have built a really good program, and we really hope it stays an amazing program for years to come,” Cameron concluded.
Like in their outstanding high school career, the Boozer twins have stood out at the national level, too. The Duke commits are two-time gold medal winners for Team USA, with the most recent one coming in Istanbul at the 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup. Cameron Boozer was also awarded FIBA Under-17 World Cup MVP.
Likewise, with an outstanding average of 24.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game at the Nike EYBL circuit, Cameron Boozer also helped his team, NightRydas Elite, to consecutive Peach Jam championships at the 15U, 16U and 17U levels.
