Duke signee Cayden Boozer reacted to future teammate Nik Khamenia's performance this week. On January 25, Bleacher Report Hoops’ Instagram account shared a post with Harvard Westlake’s small forward Nik Khamenia, shooting guard Joe Sterling, and top recruit of the Class of 2026, Tyran Stokes, on the cover photo. On Friday, Harvard Westlake defeated Notre Dame Sherman Oaks in a 73-63 showdown. The game, held as part of the Mission League action, was intense, with emerging recruits facing off. Tyran Stokes, Nik Khamenia, and Jeo Sterling were the center of attention.
Nikolas Khamenia led Harvard Westlake with 18 points, including three-pointers. He was supported by Isaiah Caroll and Joe Sterling, who also contributed 18 points each. Nik and Joe are considered one of the best duos in the high school basketball scene. The match was another display of their teamwork and chemistry.
For Notre Dame, top-ranked junior Tyran Stokes delivered 26 points with powerful dunks, three-pointers, and strong defensive gameplay. Sophomore Navarro Bowman also contributed 16 points.
The win helped the Harvard Westlake Wolverines improve to an impressive 22-1 record. Despite their best efforts, Notre Dame are now at an 18-4 record. The team will face Chaminade on Tuesday, January 28.
Cameron and Cayden Boozer Lead Columbus to Win against Montverde
In another match on Friday, clashing in the Springfield Hoophall Classic, Columbus delivered a 79-59 victory over Montverde. Columbus currently rank No. 1, while Montverde sit 11th in On3’s list of ranked high school basketball teams. The game marked Columbus’ fifth consecutive win and also their second win over Montverde this season.
Cameron Boozer led Columbus with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists. Four-star junior Jaxon Richardson, son of NBA veteran Jason Richardson, added 23 points. Cayden Boozer also made a significant impact with 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Despite seven Montverde players scoring, the team could not keep up offensively. Four-star recruit Kayden Allen led Montverde with 19 points, while Hudson Greer added 16 points. The loss is Montverde’s second in a row. Their record stands at 12-4, while Columbus’ improved to 18-3.
Columbus’ domination in the Hoophall Classic is evident. Cameron and Cayden Boozer have established themselves as top recruits and potential starters for Duke with their performances.
