While hoops fans await Kiyan Anthony's college decision, he continues to display his talent on the court. After playing for Team Melo, Anthony has now set his sights on the Third Annual ACES Hustle & Heart Classic in New York on Oct. 26. Anthony is set to lead the Long Island Crusaders as they tip off the Boys National Showcase against Putnam Science Mustangs.
Anthony took to Instagram to reshare the post by the Founder/CEO of ACES, Brian Kortovich, to his story.
"Only at ACES Player Spotlight 🔥 The LI Crusaders will be led by Kiyan Anthony, the #1 ranked player in New York," Korovich captioned the post.
The No. 34 recruit in the Class of 2025 is ranked at the eighth spot in his position and the first spot in New York. The Middle Village, New York, native will play alongside No. 44 recruit Kayden Mingo, No. 12 recruit Dylan Mingo and No. 113 recruit Warren Keel in the Boys showcase.
On the other hand, the Girls showcase will feature some talented players, including Mya and Mia Pauldo, playing for the NJ Crusaders and Jordyn Jackson playing for the DC Crimson Warriors. Some of the NBPA executives will be present at the media day for the four teams on Oct. 25.
While talking to Slam Online, Kortovich talked about the essence of the event:
“ACES was born from the grassroots of basketball, earning its way into hoops cultural relevance by allowing athletes to tell their stories, bridging corporate to culture, while bringing local communities together through our annual events."
Kiyan Anthony's unique pre-game eating habit
Playing in the AAU for his father Carmelo Anthony's team Team Melo, Anthony's cousin Mekai revealed his pre-game eating habit in a YouTube video posted by Overtime.
In the video, while Anthony's teammates are getting ready for the game, he is seen eating a burger while his cousin is seen expressing some concern:
"We ain't eat nothing we woke up late and stuff like that now the sandwich eating right now only energy going to need for like the whole day that's all he eat Chick-fil-A and cheeseburgers," said Mekai. (6:17 - 6:26)
However, Anthony is still one of the most talented players in his class. He has offers from Syracuse (his father's alma mater), Florida State and USC. Which college do you think we will see Anthony playing for next season?
