Long Island Lutheran star Kiyan Anthony may have missed some important games due to injury, but he's still cheering for his team. He is also present for the college team he has committed to, the Syracuse Orange, as he showed in his Instagram Stories on Monday.

For this trip to Syracuse, he will be watching the Orange (6-6, 0-1 ACC) take on fellow ACC team, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (9-4, 1-1), on Tuesday. Syracuse is not just aiming to end 2024 with a win, but also avenge its 99-70 loss to the Deacons in February.

The New Year's Eve game will also serve as the Orange's ACC home opener, with tipoff happening around 2 p.m. ET, and will be televised on ESPN2. Syracuse leads the head-to-head against Wake Forest 11-4.

As for Kiyan Anthony, he suffered an injury after falling on his back during Long Island Lutheran's season opener against St. Joseph's on Nov. 30.

He has not played for LuHi ever since, missing big games, such as a 65-59 loss to defending national champion Montverde (Florida) Academy on Dec. 7, a 65-50 win over Bryce James' Sierra Canyon (of Los Angeles) on Dec. 13, and Saturday's stunning, 77-60 come-from-behind win over the Boozer Twins and Columbus (of Miami).

Kiyan Anthony's mom La La Anthony excited to be "Syracuse-geared out"

As Kiyan Anthony begins transitioning from high school ball to college ball once he has been cleared to play, the Syracuse signee has one famous cheerleader, his mom, actress La La Anthony.

Speaking to TMZ after the Million Dollar Giveback event in New York City, she was asked about Kiyan eventually playing for the Orange. She revealed just how excited she was.

"I don't have (the 'fits) yet," she said. "But I think I'm going to be that mom that's, like, Syracuse-geared out. For sure. You know we going to come in there. We going to come in there, for sure."

La La Anthony had been supportive of her son, even going with him to Syracuse during his official visit, along with her ex and Kiyan's father, NBA and Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, in September.

He announced his decision to commit to the New York-based school last month during his dad's "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast. La La was also present during that announcement episode.

Kiyan Anthony, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, is ranked No. 36 overall and a four-star prospect by ESPN in the Class of 2025.
