Kiyan Anthony may have missed a few games due to an injury after suffering a hard fall, but he will be back for Long Island Lutheran just in time for the Jordan Holiday Classic in New York City. The Syracuse commit said his team has a "target" on its back.

"Everybody from New York feels like they play with a chip on their shoulder, even everybody from LuHi from over different types of Burroughs," Kiyan said.
"We all playing with a different type of energy, being like when we go out of state, when we go to all these places, we from New York, we gotta have New York on our backs and we have LuHi on our chests, we we have a target on our backs, so we gotta go out there and show them," he added.

The Jordan Holiday Classic will be held at Baruch College in New York City from Dec. 27-29, featuring top teams from all over the country, including Long Island Lutheran, Link Academy and Christopher Columbus High School.

Many New York teams are competing in the annual holiday basketball event, including Archbishop Stepinac, South Shore, Cardinal Hayes, Our Savior Lutheran, Eagle Academy and Nazareth.

Many teams only have one game on the schedule, including Long Island Lutheran, which will be taking on powerhouse Christopher Columbus High School, led by the Boozer Twins, Cameron and Cayden, on Saturday.

However, Columbus will also play against The Bullis School on Friday and Link Academy on Sunday.

Kiyan Anthony missed game against Bryce James' Sierra Canyon due to injury

While Kiyan Anthony's injury was deemed not serious, he still got an extended rest period, sitting out several important games, including last weekend's City of Palms Classic in Florida.

He also missed what may have been his most hyped match of the year, which was supposed to be against Bryce James and Sierra Canyon. The son of LeBron James also missed that game.

Even without him leading the team, LuHi still came out on top on Dec. 13. The Mingo Brothers, Dylan and Kayden, led LuHi over Sierra Canyon 65-51.

Kiyan Anthony was injured on Nov. 30 during their season opener against St. Joseph's. The son of Carmelo Anthony collided mid-air with a defender while dunking, leading to a hard fall that caused him pain in his hips, back, and other parts of his body.
