The recruitment race for four-star EDGE prospect Bryce Davis is reaching its climax. With days left before Davis makes his decision, college football insiders Steve Wilfong and Chad Simmons from On3 predict that Clemson, led by coach Dabo Swinney, is poised to secure his commitment.
As of July 10, the On3 college football insiders are 60% confident about Clemson getting the commitment of Davis, who is ranked as the No. 9 EDGE and No. 71 overall prospect in the nation by On3 Industry.
Despite Georgia being the early favorite, Clemson surged ahead following Davis' official visit in early June. There are still some teams who remain in contention to land him, such as South Carolina and Duke. As Davis nears his decision day, he has taken a step back from direct communication with schools, entrusting those interactions to his family.
Bryce Davis, hailing from Grayson High School in Georgia, is a highly sought-after 2024 class recruit. The 6'4", 235-pound defensive end has also garnered offers from top-tier programs such as Alabama, Ohio State, and USC.
Bryce Davis weighs final choice as commitment nears
Bryce Davis is nearing his commitment decision. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Clemson as the overwhelming favorite at 88.5%, with Georgia at just 2.2%. However, Davis does have a long relationship with the Bulldogs.
“Clemson and Georgia have been on me hard since my sophomore year. It started with Georgia when I was a freshman, but then they offered me as a sophomore. I have relationships with both schools and there is a lot to like about both programs. I can say I like both schools a lot.”
Bryce Davis has visited Georgia multiple times, building strong connections with their coaching staff. He remarked,
“I have great connections at Georgia. They have been consistent with me and always recruited me hard. That is one thing I like about them. Then, the program is just great. I want to compete against the best and there is no better place to do that than Georgia. The coaches at Georgia could help me on and off the field. Georgia has been there from the beginning.”
Clemson has developed NFL-ready defensive linemen like Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee and this could significantly bolster their 2024 recruiting class with Davis's commitment.
