Bryce James left college basketball fans across the nation in shock as he announced his commitment to the University of Arizona on Wednesday on Instagram. The attention drew the attention of some of his peers within minutes of him uploading the post.
NBA veteran Chris Paul's son, Chris Paul Jr.; Jason Crowe's son, Jason Crowe Jr.; and Eli Ellis, an exciting prospect in the Class of 2025, were some of the high school phenoms who turned into his well-wishers in the comments section of his post within minutes of it hitting Instagram.
"Yea twin," Chris Paul Jr. wrote
"Congrats gang," Ellis posted.
"Love it slime," Crowe commented.
While Paul is still working his way up the ranks, Ellis and Crowe are establishing themselves as players to look out for.
Ellis is an energetic four-star point guard prospect at Moravian Prep who is ranked 63rd overall and 10th among point guards in the Class of 2025.
Meanwhile, Crowe is emerging as an elite point guard prospect at Inglewood, ranked seventh overall and second among point guards in the Class of 2026.
Kevin Durant joins the masses with kind messages for Bryce James
Besides upcoming prospects, 14-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant also showed his appreciation for James on Instagram. Plus, AJ Dybantsa, the top recruit in the Class of 2025, and Bryce's brother, Bronny James, also buzzed with the news.
"Yesssir," Durant wrote.
"Congrats brudda," Dybantsa wrote.
"Yessirrrrrrr," Bronny James added.
Bryce James is a three-star shooting guard at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles. He is ranked 257th overall and 47th among shooting guards in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports.
James only had offers from Ohio State and Duquesne for the last few months before Arizona associate head coach Jack Murphy made a surprise offer on New Year's Eve to bring him to Tucson for the 2025 season.
James joins five-star small forward prospect Dwayne Aristode, the 14th overall prospect in the class, in the Wildcats' 2025 signing class.
