Solomon Thomas, a five-star offensive lineman in the Class of 2025, announced his commitment to the Florida State Seminoles on Dec. 22, 2023. However, that commitment is in serious jeopardy following the firing of the program's offensive coordinator/line coach, Alex Atkins.

FSU has had a torrid start to the season. The Mike Norvell-led side is 1-9 through 10 games, beating only California in Week 4. The program is on a six-game losing streak and the team's coaching staff is facing the consequences.

Norvell also fired wide receivers coach Ron Dugans and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and that has seemingly affected the school's recruitment. Multiple top high school athletes in the Class of 2025 have already decommitted from the program and Thomas could join that list.

The five-star defenseman shared a cryptic post after the firing of Atkins.

"Ngl [not going to lie] y’all messed up firing my coach," Thomas wrote on his X account.

Yahoo Sports shared Thomas' comment as an Instagram post on their page and Colorado coach Deion Sanders reacted to the post.

"Wow! My Dad ain’t hard to find," Sanders commented while adding multiple laughing emojis.

Solomon Thomas hasn't received an offer from the Buffaloes yet, as per On3, but the program can make a surprise last-minute push to flip the five-star prospect's commitment.

Tennessee and LSU among schools in contention to flip Solomon Thomas

Thomas has been committed to the Seminoles since December 2023, but the recent developments in the team have led to doubts over his commitment. Teams are circling to flip the top defenseman, including Tennessee, LSU, Miami and Georgia.

Thomas said Florida and LSU are the teams with the best chance of changing his mind, but clarified that he is committed to the Seminoles as of now.

"I’m going to say LSU and Florida as two schools that have a chance if the cards are played correct," the five-star recruit told On3. "But I’m sticking with Florida State."

Solomon Thomas is ranked as the 25th-best overall prospect in the country and is the second-best player at his position, as per On3. He is also the fourth-best overall prospect from the state of Florida.
