Wide receiver Quentin Gibson and the No. 9 North Crowley Panthers faced the No. 3 Duncanville Panthers in the UIL Class 6A Division 1 semifinal on Friday.
Entering as underdogs, North Crowley took the fight to Duncanville, securing a narrow 36-34 victory. The program remains unbeaten this season after defeating their in-state rivals.
Gibson played a big role in the Panthers' win, and his fellow Colorado commit, Julian Lewis, took notice. MaxPreps shared the news of North Crowley's win on X, and Lewis posted a three-word reply for Gibson.
"@Qfor6ix is really HIM," Lewis commented.
Lewis and Gibson will play together in Boulder next season, as they signed with the program on National Signing Day. North Crowley will face the Westlake Chaparrals in the final on Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
Quentin Gibson pledged his allegiance to the Colorado Buffaloes in November
The North Crowley Panthers' three-star wide receiver, Quentin Gibson, is one of the Colorado Buffaloes' 14 signees from the Class of 2025. He announced his commitment to the Buffs on Nov. 29 and signed with them on Dec. 4.
Gibson visited Boulder in the fall and had a great experience with the program.
"My first official visit was to Colorado a couple of weeks ago," he said (via On3). "It was a fun visit and it was exciting to see their atmosphere. The coaches were telling me how I would fit in the scheme and be able to replace some of their top guys."
North Crowley is still in the hunt for the state title after their win over Duncanville. Gibson scored a couple of touchdowns and was a key factor in the Panthers' 36-34 win.
Gibson is the team's leading receiver and showcased his immense talent in the game against Duncanville. He is ranked No. 717 and is the 117th-best wide receiver in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the 102nd-best overall prospect in Texas.
