Julian Lewis, a standout quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, has earned national attention for his leadership and exceptional performance on the field. Recently committing to the University of Colorado, Lewis demonstrated why he’s considered one of the best in the nation on Friday night.

The quarterback led Carrollton High School (14-0) to a significant 30-17 road victory over Buford, securing a spot in the 6A state championship game against No. 6 Grayson (13-1).

Following the win, Lewis expressed his deep connection to his team in a post on X.

“This team means everything to me. Proud of how we fought tonight. Go Trojans.”

Julian Lewis showcased precision and composure in the game, completing 15 of 18 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Despite sustaining an injury to his throwing hand early in the second quarter of the previous playoff matchup against Hillgrove, Lewis displayed resilience and returned stronger than ever.

Down 17-7 with less than two minutes to go in the second quarter against Buford, Lewis led a defining drive that ended up with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Peyton Zachary. This second-half thrust helped the Trojans close the gap to just three points at 17-14 and the beginning of a mind-blowing comeback.

Carrollton scored 23 unanswered points, snapping Buford’s 12-game win streak and advancing to an undefeated season. The Trojans will compete for the state title against Grayson High School (Loganville, Georgia) on Dec. 18 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Grayson earned its spot after a 35-28 victory over Douglas County.

Julian Lewis joins Colorado after reclassifying and decommitting from USC

Julian Lewis, one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects, began his college journey by committing to USC in August 2023 as part of the Class of 2026. However, after reclassifying later that year, Lewis ultimately decommitted from Southern California on Nov. 17.

Four days later, he announced his pledge to the University of Colorado, aligning his future with Coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.

“It’s a huge opportunity! What Coach Prime has been able to build in two seasons can’t be denied,” Lewis said in a statement following his commitment. “I’ve had a chance to get to know him and believe that he can further develop me into the player and person that I want to be.
“Coach Shurmur has been an NFL offensive coordinator and head coach, so he understands exactly what’s needed at the next level. Coach Prime is going to play the best player, whether it’s a freshman or a walk-on.”

Julian Lewis showed his excellent ability during his last high school season when he completed 75.8% of his passes, gaining 3,272 yards and scoring 44 touchdowns. His skillfulness and the fact that he is a major advertisement magnet are shown by his On3 NIL valuation of $962,000.
