Four-star wide receiver Malik Clark has decommitted from Florida following the program's sluggish start to the season. The prospect later gave his pledge to South Carolina earlier this month, and since then, he has been an active recruiter for Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks.
On Monday, JUCO defensive lineman Seven Cloud, who plays at Butler Community College in Kansas, received an offer from South Carolina. He posted the news on X, tagging South Carolina Director of Recruiting Brandon Middleton:
"Blessed To Receive A Offer From South Carolina GameCocks🖤🐔 #GoCocks🐔🔥 @Coach_JL51 @B_MiddletonSC @CoachBVignery @CoachEvanMann."
Clark jumped into the conversation, urging Cloud to join him in Columbia, commenting,
"come home bro ... you see that defense 🤝🏾."
Seven Cloud, a former Georgia Bulldogs commit from the Class of 2023, would have been a sophomore defensive lineman by now had he signed with Georgia last year. Kirby Smart's program extended an offer to him in 2020, and he gave his pledge a year later but never joined their roster.
Cloud added some Southeastern Conference offers in the last few months from Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida and Missouri, among others.
If Cloud commits to South Carolina, he could be a significant addition to the 2025 class, which is ranked No. 21 in the country with 21 players already committed. The Gamecocks need more defensive line talent, as they currently have only one commit at the position, three-star prospect Caleb Williams from Matoaca High School in Virginia.
Malik Clark's senior season performance so far
Through nine games of the season, Malik Clark has recorded 757 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He attends Rock Hill High School in South Carolina, which is 5-4 overall this season.
As a junior, Clark caught 46 passes for 800 yards and nine touchdowns, earning All-Herald second-team honors. He also contributed on defense, seeing snaps at cornerback. His efforts helped Rock Hill reach the first round of the playoffs last season.
Malik Clark is the No. 176 overall prospect in the country, the No. 21 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 2 recruit in South Carolina, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
