Four-star defensive lineman Christian Ingram has become a sought-after prospect in the 2025 class in recent months. The standout from Newton High School in Georgia has already received more than a dozen offers.
On Monday, Ingram revealed via a post on X his top five schools: Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks' four-star edge rusher commit Jaquavious Dodd quickly took notice and reposted it. He encouraged Ingram to join him in Shane Beamer's program.
"Come HOME 🏠 @imcingram! 🤙🏿🐔."
Dodd, who committed to the Gamecocks in June, is already dedicated to building South Carolina's 2025 class, which is ranked No. 22 nationally and No. 11 in the Southeastern Conference.
Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer and his staff have shown they can land top-tier talent, and Dodd is playing his part to further boost that reputation. His recruitment process saw him choose South Carolina over programs like Virginia, Florida State and Virginia Tech. He called his decision a "dream come true."
The Gamecocks' 2025 class includes several blue-chip prospects, such as four-star defensive lineman Caleb Williams, wide receiver Jordon Gidron, safety Kendall Daniels, wideout Lex Cyrus, interior offensive lineman Shed Sarratt and linebacker Jaquel Holman.
Christian Ingram opens up about the South Carolina offer
Christian Ingram earned the scholarship offer from South Carolina on Oct. 9, following a conversation with Gamecocks defensive line coach Travian Robertson. He praised Ingram for his leadership qualities, work ethic and physical prowess. What also stood out to Robertson was the prospect's basketball background.
“He likes that I am a two-sport athlete,” Ingram said, via Sports Talk Media Network on Oct. 10. “He likes D-linemen who are two-sport athletes. A lot of his guys he coaches at South Carolina like to play basketball. He likes my background in that. He said he likes to coach tall, long and athletic guys.”
Ingram has been inspired by former Gamecock star Jadeveon Clowney and feels honored by the opportunity to potentially follow in his footsteps. The South Carolina offer is just the latest in a growing list for him. This month alone, he has received offers from other powerhouse programs such as Florida State, Michigan and Colorado.
Christian Ingram has several official visits lined up in the coming weeks. He will visit Kentucky on Oct. 25, Michigan on Nov. 1, Georgia on Nov. 15, Vanderbilt on Nov. 19 and Florida State on Nov. 22.
