Red Oak (Texas) South Oak Cliff four-star edge rusher Kamauryn Morgan, nicknamed "K3," committed to Baylor on Sunday. He narrowed down his top choice to three programs last week, which featured Texas A&M and SMU alongside Baylor.
The Mustangs emerged as a frontrunner to secure Morgan's pledge last week, leading the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 45.8% chance, but Baylor ultimately had the last laugh. The prospect made his decision coming off official visits to SMU on June 7, Baylor on June 14 and Texas A&M on June 21.
“I got the home feeling at Baylor; the people are amazing,” Morgan told SicEM 365 following his official visit. “It’s a place where I can live and grow, plus they want to win."
Morgan also posted his decision on X:
Kamauryn Morgan developed a good bond with Baylor running back coach Khenon Hall and all the coaching staff made him feel like a priority during the official visit.
"The staff talked about it being a great place for me to grow and develop as a three-year type player. They told me they wanted me to be the face of the 2025 class, and that made my day.”
Morgan also received offers from Oregon, Georgia, Florida, Texas, USC, TCU, Tennessee and Auburn before committing to coach Dave Aranda's program.
What does Kamauryn Morgan bring to Baylor?
According to 247Sports, Kamauryn Morgan is rated as the No. 94 player in the 2025 class, the No. 12 edge rusher and the No. 16 player in Texas. On3 places him as the No. 264 player, the No. 26 edge rusher in the class and the No. 42 player in the state.
One of Morgan's standout qualities, as noted by Rivals, is his exceptional ability to track ball carriers and react swiftly to make plays to create opportunities for his teammates.
This skill was evident during his junior season in 2023, where he recorded 65 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and six sacks, along with two forced fumbles. His performance as a sophomore was notable as well, recording 24 tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks.
Morgan now becomes the Bears’ 15th addition to the class of 2025, which includes five defensive linemen and three ends, along with two interior prospects. Morgan is the second four-star prospect to join the program this week, following the commitment of wide receiver Jacorey Watson.
Kamauryn Morgan joins a promising group of recruits in the Baylor program, including running back Caden Knighten, defensive lineman Jackson Blackwell, quarterback Edward Griffin and wide receiver Chase Collier, among others.
