Four-star safety Jordan Young has been preparing himself to announce his commitment on Nov. 2. He has narrowed down his options to the Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines and NC State Wolfpack.
On Friday, On3's Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for Dabo Swinney's Clemson to land Young. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives Clemson a 77.4% chance of landing him.
Back in July, the Tigers were seen as frontrunners with a 24.7% chance of landing Young. However, that percentage drastically fell to just 1.9% over the next two months as NC State emerged as the clear leader in his recruitment. The Wolfpack boasted an 83% chance till September, which is now reduced to 17.3%.
Speaking with 247 Sports, Young shared his approach to the recruitment process, saying,
"I am just looking for the best fit overall for myself, and just trusting in God. There's no wrong choice."
Young is ranked by ESPN as the No. 106 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 9 safety in the 2025 class, and the No. 4 recruit in North Carolina.
Jordan Young's perception of Clemson
Jordan Young's most recent trip to Clemson was on Oct. 19, when he attended the Tigers 48-31 victory over Virginia.
The Tigers have 13 players committed to their 2025 class, ranking No. 16 in the nation. The cycle features one safety in four-star Tae Harris from Cedartown High School in Georgia.
Speaking with On3 in July, Young had heavy praise for the Tigers coaching staff, saying,
“The people at Clemson are great. Coach Dabo Swinney has a top program at Clemson and their coaches are good people and easy to talk to.”
Clemson's this cycle witnessed five decommitments so far from defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, quarterback Blake Hebert, offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley, edge rusher Bryce Davis, and cornerback Graceson Littleton, who backed off his pledge on Friday.
The Tigers are still trending for the commitment of four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell. Among the prospects they offered this cycle, only a few are left uncommitted, including four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph, three-star interior offensive lineman Peter Langi, four-star defensive lineman Christian Ingram and three-star interior offensive lineman Ata Matau.
