Four-star guard Acaden Lewis ranks first in the 2025 ESPN 100 Top Washington D.C. Recruits. According to On3.com, Lewis has received offers from programs such as North Carolina, Connecticut, Florida State, Michigan, Kentucky, Syracuse, Maryland and many more.
However, the Washington native has narrowed the list down to four colleges. UConn, Duke and Kentucky are the offers he is considering with a pending visit to UNC on October 4.
Lewis has a 88 scout grade according to ESPN and ranks at the 28th spot in the 2025 ESPN 100 Recruiting Database. He has been termed as a four-star recruit according to On3, 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.
Top 4 programs competing for Acaden Lewis' commitment
#4 UConn
Acaden Lewis will replace four-star forward Tounde Yessoufou who was originally scheduled to visit UConn but canceled. After already hosting five-star recruits Braylon Mullins, Niko Bundalo, and Eric Reibe, the Huskies will now host the 6'2" guard.
After winning back-to-back national championships, the Huskies' head coach Dan Hurley, and his staff met Lewis unofficially. This helped them understand if Lewis would fit in well with UConn. Hurley needs to add some depth to his squad with Hassan Diarra graduating after this season, and Acaden Lewis could help with that.
#3 Duke
Duke is another program where Lewis could land. He made an unofficial visit to the Blue Devils in early August. Under head coach Jon Scheyer, the Blue Devils finished in the second spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
They were excellent in the NCAA Tournament also, reaching the Elite Eight before an upset by NC State.
Some of the other players that could enroll with the Blue Devils are Carlos Boozer's sons, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, power-forward Koa Peat, and shooting-forward Shelton Henderson. If these players, along with Acaden Lewis, do enroll, head coach Scheyer will have a strong roster.
#2 Kentucky
The Kentucky Wildcats have had a good recruiting season so far. They have received commitments from big man Malachi Moreno and guard Jasper Johnson. Furthermore, Johnson pitched Kentucky to sign five-star recruit Caleb Wilson and Acaden Lewis.
If it happens, the Wildcats will have to compete with the other top three programs that are on Lewis' list.
Under head coach John Calipari, the Wildcats finished with a 23-10 record and were knocked out by Kansas State in the second round. Also, this will be Mark Pope's first season as Kentucky's head coach. A commitment from both Wilson and Lewis would make an exciting roster.
#1 UNC
The North Carolina Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis has not received any commitments. But he has made offers to some five-star recruits, including Bryson Tiller, Cameron Boozer, Koa Peat, Caleb Wilson, Nate Ament, and more.
While his official visit to UNC is on October 4, Lewis said that Hubert and Lebo have actively reached out to him.
“Coach (Hubert) Davis, (Jeff) Lebo, and the rest of the staff have also done a really good job of recruiting me,” Lewis said. “They’ve been really active planning out the home visit and now I have my official visit that I’ve put out for October 4th, so ready to get up there."
According to MaxPreps, Lewis averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a junior in 2023-24. He is planning to make his decision by November. Which team do you think we will see Lewis play for next season?
