Three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas' ex-girlfriend, Laura Govan, showed her pride for her eldest son, Alijah Arenas. The five-star recruit from the Class of 2026 continued his dominance at the Damian Classic. After a record-breaking 56-point performance on Friday, the 17-year-old delivered another stellar showing.
On Monday, the Chatsworth Chancellors faced the Etiwanda Eagles in the Gold Division of the Classic at Damien tournament. Alijah scored 43 points, and Govan celebrated her son's extraordinary performance by sharing two clips on Instagram.
In one clip, Alijah dribbles from his half, weaving past four defenders before finishing with a brilliant basket.
"And then I got to see my baby @alijaharenas0," Govan captioned the first story.
In the next story, Alijah could be seen blocking a shot. Then he scores another basket after dribbling past two defenders, followed by a precise throw after a 1v1.
"Defense/Offense It's whatever. All Kind[a] of bounce @alijaharenas0," Govan wrote in the second story.
Despite scoring 43 points, the shooting guard ended up on the losing side. The game ended 61-57 in Etiwanda's favor.
Chatsworth has now lost three out of its last four games. Alijah Arenas has averaged 41.4 points per game in four games at the Damien Classic, but it wasn't enough to taste victory.
Laura Govan's children continue to make her happy
Besides Alijah Arenas, Laura's daughter, Hamiley Arenas, has been on a golden run as well. The ninth grader is setting the standards high for her high school career. She averaged 25.0 ppg for Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, CA) this month.
Hamiley leads Notre Dame in points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocks per game this season. She dropped another 30-point performance on Monday, earning praise from Laura, Alijah and Jerzy Robinson.
