Columbus High School small forward Jaxon Richardson experienced a scary moment during a game against Moravian Prep, while playing for Los Explorers in an event hosted by Platform Basketball.
The popular basketball channel "Ballislife" uploaded the highlight of the incident on Instagram, in which the Class of 2026 forward hit his head on the backboard while attempting to dunk. The Miami, Florida native stole the ball and initiated a fast break. However, as he jumped to dunk, he hit the side of his head on the backboard and fell to the floor:
The referee approached Richardson, and the audience sitting behind the basket looked concerned. Fans reacted to the highlight in the comments, with some finding humor in the situation.
"Ding ding ding K.O.," a fan said.
"Buddy got knocked out wtf 😂😂," another fan said.
"Too much bounce 😂🔥." one fan said.
On the other hand, some fans were concerned for the 17-year-old. Carlos Boozer's son Cayden Boozer also commented on the post:

"I dislocated my elbow just like that on those low a** backboard. Smh," one fan said.
Playing for the Columbus High School, Miami, Florida, Richardson averaged 6.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, one steal, one block and one steal per game in 28 matches. The 6'6" small forward ranks at the 28th spot in the 2026 ESPN 60 and has received an 89 Scout Grade.
