Jonah Winston, a three-star athlete in the Class of 2026, had a tremendous outing against the Alabaster-based Thompson High School on Friday, October 18. The brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback, Jameis Winston, recorded 132 total yards against the Warriors en route to a 27-26 overtime win for the Hoover Buccaneers.

Per MaxPreps, the 5-foot-10 receiver and running back scored the game-deciding touchdown and led his team to the eighth win of the season. MaxPreps' Instagram page shared the highlights of Winston against the Thompson Warriors.

"Winston caught eight passes for 86 yards, rushed for 46 yards and 2 TDs, including the decisive overtime score in a 27-26 OT win over Thompson (AL)."

Fans were quick to express their opinions about the three-star recruit from Hoover, Alabama. The majority of the comments were positive and praised Winston for his performance.

"the real prodigy of the family," one fan said.
"Go ahead and add that 4th star," another fan commented.
"He’s a 4 man!" said another.

owever, a few fans were curious to know if Jonah Winston loved crab legs, just like his older brother, a reference to an incident in 2014 where Jameis Winston was cited by police for shoplifting crab legs from a grocery store.

Florida State is the favorite to land three-star athlete Jonah Winston

The Florida State Seminoles are currently leading the race to land the three-star athlete from Hoover High School, Jonah Winston, as per On3. Other teams that have extended an offer to the Class of 2026 athlete are Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and Texas A&M.

The Seminoles extended an offer to Winston on March 11, 2023. Winston told On3 earlier this year that the Seminoles are on the top of his list and praised the team's coaching staff, especially the quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz and offensive analyst Austin Tucker.

Winston told On3 in February:

"FSU is at the top of my list and will stay one of the schools at the top of my list. Coach Tokarz is my guy. Every time I go down to Tallahassee, it’s an amazing experience. The coach I talk to the most would probably be Coach Tucker. Mainly because my dad and Coach Tucker are cool."

Jonah's older brother, Jameis Winston, played for the Florida State Seminoles from 2012 to 2014 and won a Heisman Trophy during that time. Jonah will look to follow his brother's footsteps and make a name for himself at FSU.
