Big Cat Weekend is once again bringing an impressive lineup of top recruits to Auburn. One of the most significant flips came from four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman, who switched his commitment from Alabama to Auburn for second-time.
The Tigers also secured pledges from two blue-chip recruits for the 2026 class: four-star edge rusher Hezekiah Harris and four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle. Meanwhile, four-star edge rusher Jared Smith from the 2025 class has yet to announce his decision.
He became a hot topic of discussion after arriving at the event in style on Saturday, driving an Auburn Tigers-themed Tesla Cybertruck. The unique vehicle caught the eye of many, including Jeffery Lee, Senior Recruiting Editor for Auburn Live, who snapped a photo of the truck and uploaded it on X.
The Tesla Cybertruck, an electric pickup truck built by Tesla, Inc., has been a head-turner since its introduction as a concept vehicle in November 2019. It is available in three models: the tri-motor all-wheel drive "Cyberbeast," a dual-motor all-wheel drive model, and a rear-wheel drive model. Smith's Cybertruck was adorned with the Auburn Athletics logo.
Jared Smith is the No. 175 overall prospect, the No. 18 edge rusher in the 2025 cycle and the No. 6 prospect in Alabama, according to On3. 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 19 overall prospect, the No. 2 edge rusher in the class and the No. 2 prospect in the state.
Which program is leading the race for Jared Smith's commitment?
Jared Smith is set to make his commitment announcement next Saturday, August 3. He has narrowed his choices down to six schools: Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, South Carolina, USC and Ole Miss.
According to the Crystal Ball predictions on 247 Sports, Auburn is the anticipated destination for Smith. On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine echoes this sentiment, giving the Tigers an 82% chance of securing his commitment. On3 Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons, was the first to log a prediction in favor of the program, noting the Tigers' strong push to land the edge rusher.
“Auburn has made a big push for Smith," Simmons Wrote. "His recruitment is far from over, but the Tigers are surging late with a commitment less than a month away.”
Jared Smith has made several visits to Auburn over the past year, including an unofficial visit this spring and participation in the Big Cat Weekend.
Auburn's 2025 holds the No. 12 recruiting class in the nation and the No. 6 class in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. If Smith commits to Auburn, he will join a formidable defensive line group that includes Jourdin Crawford, Malik Autry and Jakaleb Faulk.
