Gilbert Arenas speaks highly of his son, Alijah Arenas

Gilbert Arenas's son, Alijah Arenas, is one of the best high school prospects from the class of 2026. He is ranked in the top 5 and is one of the best players in his position in the country, regardless of the class.

His father, a great NBA player in his own right, spoke highly about his son and his recruitment. There is a high chance that Alijah will commit to the Arizona Wildcats, just like his father 24 years ago. The former NBA player believes that the Wildcats' pursuit of his son is a testament to his hard work and not his last name.

"Your last name gives you an advantage, but your first name is what everybody's gonna judge you on," Arenas said on the Spears and Ali podcast. "It says a lot about his training because, you know, if he wasn't that good Arizona wouldn't just be coming after him because of his who his father is right? They're looking at his talent and his upside."

Alijah Arenas is currently sitting on more than 15 offers from some of the best Division I schools in the country. He is being pursued by the likes of UCLA, Nevada, Texas, California, Nebraska, Arizona, and Alabama, among others.
