Chris Henry Jr. committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in July 2023. He chose the Ryan Day-led team over programs such as Cincinnati, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami, Georgia, USC and Notre Dame. However, the West Virginia Mountaineers are still pursuing the five-star prospect.

The Class of 2026 wide receiver's father, Chris Henry Sr., played college football at West Virginia. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft but died in a tragic incident four years later. Henry Jr.'s adoptive father, Adam "Pacman" Jones, is a former West Virginia defenseman.

The Mater Dei High School (California) wide receiver shared a touching video of his father's West Virginia highlights on his X account on Sunday, sparking rumors of a potential flip to the Mountaineers.

The video garnered a lot of attention as fans speculated about Henry Jr.'s change of heart. WVU fans tried their best in the comments section to change the five-star athlete's commitment.

"WVU will love you long after you go pro and retire, OSU doesn’t have that same level of love and admiration for their alumni," one fan said.
"Come home!" another fan wrote.
"You could be an absolute legend in Morgantown. Big things are coming for WVU football , let's make it happen !" another fan commented.

Henry received many positive comments from CFB fans, who also praised his father.

"you the man, and i’d be disappointed if you flipped, but we’d all understand. all love bro and as alway, GO BUCKS," one fan wrote.
"Your dad was an incredible receiver. They say you’re on the way to being even better. Best wishes," another fan said.
"Your dad was one of the best to ever put on the gold & blue. It would look good on you too!" another fan commented.

Henry Jr.'s pledge to the Buckeyes might be in danger, and it will be interesting to see if he flips his commitment.

Chris Henry Jr. termed Ohio State as a wide receiver university before his commitment

Chris Henry Jr. pledged his allegiance to the Ohio State Buckeyes on July 7, 2023. He talked about his relationship with the program's receivers coach, Brian Hartline, and called the school a WR university.

"I have a great relationship with coach Hartline and I like how he coaches," Henry Jr. said in May 2023, via On3. "Ohio State is starting to look like WRU and they’re recruiting me hard already."

According to On3, Henry Jr. is the No. 5 prospect nationally and the No. 1 WR from the Class of 2026.
