Five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart signed with USC on Dec. 4. The standout from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, Louisiana is one of the best defensive headliners in the Trojans' 2025 recruiting class.
USC's defensive momentum continued on Saturday, as former Georgia defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett announced his transfer to the Trojans. Stewart, the No. 1 defensive line prospect in the 2025 class, reacted to the recruitment win with an emoji:
"😅."
Jarrett is a member of Georgia's 2023 recruiting class and played in 11 games for the Bulldogs this season, recording three tackles. He has three years of eligibility remaining and is expected to make an immediate impact on USC's defensive line.
Jarrett's transfer marks the second departure from Georgia, following cornerback Julian Humphrey's announcement last week that he would be transferring to Texas A&M. The transfer portal officially opened on Dec. 9 and will remain active till Dec. 28.
Jahkeem Stewart raves about USC's 2025 class
USC's 2025 class was hit with a blow when five-star quarterback Julian Lewis decommitted, but the Trojans quickly filled up the gap by flipping five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet from Texas A&M. Jahkeem Stewart keeps his full trust in his cycle, which also features 20 other committed players and four transfer players alongside him.
"I believe this 2025 class will go in with our heads down and work hard and change things around and that’s what’s needed," Stewart told On3.
Stewart's confidence in the coaching staff, especially head coach Lincoln Riley and defensive line coach Eric Henderson, is clear. Henderson joined USC from the Los Angeles Rams, where he coached Super Bowl champion Aaron Donald.
"There’s a lot of work to put in," Stewart said. "I know Coach Riley is going to do his part. Coach Henny and the staff are going to do their part. And it’s going to be a completely different team than last year."
Jahkeem Stewart is the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana and the No. 8 prospect in the nation, according to Rivals. On3 places him as the No. 3 defensive lineman in the cycle, the No. 2 recruit in Louisiana and the No. 25 prospect nationally.
