Five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., the son of Ohio State legend Chris Henry, has been committed to the Buckeyes since July 2023 but has made several visits to Oregon. The top-ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class is set to visit Eugene again on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Henry possesses all the traits college football programs seek in an elite wide receiver. As a standout at Mater Dei High School in California, Oregon's interest is no surprise, given the Ducks' strong recruiting connection to the school. Adding a mighty player like Henry would be a major recruiting win for Oregon's 2026 class.

Meanwhile, the Ducks already boast the top wide receiver in the 2025 class, five-star prospect Dakorien Moore. After news of Henry's upcoming visit surfaced, Moore made a recruitment pitch with an X post on Saturday:

"In due time fam🤞🏾."

Moore has also been generating excitement among Oregon fans with his performances. During the Polynesian Bowl on Friday, he delivered a phenomenal game-winning touchdown and was named Co-Offensive MVP alongside USC quarterback signee Husan Longstreet.

Can Oregon flip Chris Henry Jr. from Ohio State?

Co-offensive coordinator Junior Adams and running backs coach Ra'Shaad Samples are recruiting Chris Henry at Oregon. The wide receiver was in attendance for Oregon's Saturday Night Live coaching event in July. He also made a gameday visit during the Ducks' 39-18 win against Maryland on Nov. 9 and left impressed.

"The relationship I have with them is strong; they have a great relationship with my mom, my family," Henry told On3 following the trip.

However, Ohio State still has momentum in his recruitment, especially given its strong 2024 season. The Buckeyes, coming off a 13-2 season, are in the championship hunt and will face Notre Dame on Monday for the national title.

Besides Henry, Ohio State has another wide receiver commit in the 2026 class: three-star prospect Jaeden Ricketts. The class ranks No. 9 in the nation with four committed players.

Meanwhile, Oregon has a top-ranked class in 2026 with 10 committed players. The cycle is headlined by five-star tight end Kendre Harrison and is also in the mix for multiple other blue-chip prospects.
