Five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho has become one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. The Georgetown Preparatory School (Maryland) standout told On3's Steve Wiltfong on Sunday that Oregon is currently his top choice, with Georgia holding the second spot.
"Oregon is my new No. 1, but Georgia is right there at No. 2,” Iheanacho told On3 on Sunday.
Iheanacho's recruitment features a star-studded list of 16 schools, and he plans to narrow his options by at least half by summer. Besides Dan Lanning's team, the list features LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
The standout tackle visited Eugene earlier this year during Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp in August. Since then, Lanning's coaching staff has continued pursuing him. The Ducks’ 13-0 record this season and their No. 1-ranked 2026 recruiting class only enhance their chances.
Oregon has secured commitments from some of the nation's top talents in the 2026 cycle. Headlined by five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, the Ducks' class includes offensive standouts like tackle Kodi Greene, quarterback Jonas Williams, and running back Tradarian Ball. The defensive side is equally formidable with defensive lineman Bott Mulitalo and linebacker Tristan Phillips, among others.
Immanuel Iheanacho has several other schools on his list besides Oregon
Besides the Ducks, Immanuel Iheanacho is also considering schools like Penn State, Maryland, Alabama and Ohio State. He has scheduled a visit to Texas A&M on Jan. 11 and hopes to visit Tennessee and Oklahoma later in the month.
"Those are not set yet, but those are schools I am looking to visit for the first time soon," Iheanacho told On3.
At 6-foot-6.5 and 350 pounds, Iheanacho stands out for his massive frame, boasting some of the longest arms in the 2026 cycle. He was named First Team All-Met this week. Despite being listed as an offensive tackle, his future position may vary depending on his physical development, with the potential for him to move inside to the interior offensive line or remain on the right side.
Immanuel Iheanacho is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, the No. 2 overall player in the nation and the No. 1 recruit in Maryland, as per the On3 Industry Rankings.
