Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis committed to Georgia in March but backed off his pledge last month. The decommitment opened the door for his recruitment, and Curtis has scheduled visits to multiple schools following the announcement.

Curtis will visit Hugh Freeze's Auburn this Saturday as the Tigers host the Vanderbilt Commodores at Jordan-Hare Stadium. His trip to Plain marks his first-ever visit to Hugh Freeze's program.

Auburn has had a rocky season with a 3–5 overall record and a 2–3 record at home. A string of four losses in a row and losing three out of its five games by one possession plagued the school until last Saturday when it secured a morale-boosting 24–10 victory over Kentucky.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt comes into this weekend's game with a 5–3 record overall and 1–2 on the road. Although the school narrowly lost to Texas last week (27–24), it previously pulled off a shocking 40–35 win over Alabama on Oct. 5. This will push Hugh Freeze's program to stay sharp to avoid another upset.

Which other schools are in contention for Jared Curtis?

Jared Curtis received interests from Oregon, USC, South Carolina, Ohio State, Alabama and Auburn following his Georgia decommitment, but the Ducks seem to have an edge so far. Speaking with SI, he raved about the school's coaching staff:

“Coach (Will) Stein and Coach (Dan) Lanning, I talk with them on the phone a lot. I went up there once and I really like it up there... They put you on the map no matter where you’re at quarterback wise."

Oregon's 2026 class ranks No. 1 in the nation with seven committed players, and Curtis took notice.

"They have a great program and I feel like they’re going to continue to build and I’m excited to see what they have in store for them.”

Curtis plans to visit Eugene on Nov. 9 when Oregon faces the Maryland Terrapins. He has also scheduled visits to other top programs, including Ohio State on Nov. 23 and Alabama on Nov. 30. Despite his decommitment from Georgia, he will visit the school on Nov. 16 for the game against Tennessee.
