Five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson had a standout performance despite Tampa Bay Tech High School’s 63-40 loss to Venice High School. He recorded six catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
Wilson committed to the Oregon Ducks in January 2023, but he has remained open to exploring other options. He is scheduled to visit Gainesville for the Florida vs. Miami game on Saturday, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.
The Gators have a 11-14 record over the past two seasons and missed a bowl game last season for the first time since 2017. The Miami Hurricanes also have a 12-13 record in their last two seasons.
The match between Florida and Miami is notable, as it marks their first game at The Swamp since 2008. In their most recent encounter, Florida edged out Miami 24-20 at Camping World Stadium to kick off the 2019 season. The Gators have won two of the last three games against the Hurricanes. For this game, Miami is starting as a 2.5-point favorite, according to BetMGM.
Dallas Wilson's recruitment situation
All summer, Oregon coach Dan Lanning has been on a recruiting spree and secured commitments from several top prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes. Dallas Wilson gave his pledge last year, but several programs, including Florida, Florida State, Miami and Texas have continued to pursue him aggressively.
The Longhorns extended an offer to Wilson last September, with special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Jeff Banks making multiple visits to the receiver’s high school in Florida. Banks’ efforts, along with Texas' recent on-field success and strong NFL draft results, have ignited rumors about his commitment.
Wilson is also scheduled to visit Florida State on the weekend of November 29. This visit coincides with a game between the Seminoles and the Florida Gators at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles' ability to show their program in the key matchup might sway Wilson, especially considering the Noles' limited success in the Tampa area in recent years.
Dallas Wilson is ranked by On3 Industry Ranking as the No. 27 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 4 recruit in Florida.
