Florida high school rootball rankings after Week 10: IMG Academy finishes week on top with another narrow escape

Florida high school football has been through a lot this season. Hurricanes Milton and Helen rocked the state, disturbing the football schedule. However, Florida has successfully conducted 10 weeks of football and will enter its final leg later this week.

According to SI, IMG Academy maintained its top spot after its narrow overtime win over the East St. Louis Flyers on Friday. Chaminade-Madonna, on the other hand, holds the second spot after its blowout win over Cardinal-Gibbons.

The Lions concluded their regular season with a record of 8-2, whereas the Ascenders are 6-1. Lakeland and Armwood remained unbeaten after their latest games against Kathleen and Wharton, respectively.

IMG Academy finishes week on top with another narrow escape in Florida high school football rankings

The IMG Academy Ascenders came into their Week 10 matchup against the East St. Louis Flyers with a record of 5-1. The No. 5-ranked team in the country was expected to take care of the 29th-ranked team with ease, but that wasn't the case as the Ascenders narrowly escaped with a 14-13 overtime victory.

IMG Academy will face another stern test on the road on Friday, this time against the 17th-ranked St. Frances Academy Panthers. The Panthers (6-3) overtook Clearwater Central Catholic 35-7 in their previous game.

The Lakeland Dreadnaughts ended Week 10 with a 47-6 blowout win over the Kathleen Red Devils. They maintained their perfect start to the season and will look to end the regular season on a high against the Sebring Blue Streaks.

The Blue Streaks (5-3) won their latest game against Lake Gibson 43-22 on Saturday, bouncing back after a tough loss against Glades Central at home in Week 8.
