Former NBA star Trevor Ariza shared a reaction to his younger son venturing into the basketball scene. On Jan. 26, the player who had a brilliant 18-season run at the NBA shared a screenshot of an X post from 'Pro Insights,' which showcased Tristan Ariza’s performance and potential.
“@tristan.ariza Proud of you son!!” Captioned Trevor Ariza, showing his pride and enthusiasm regarding his son and his starting steps into the basketball world.
The post discussed Tristan’s performance at the Sports Academy National Cup, which is a circuit for young talent. The middle schooler belongs to the Class of 2029 and is part of the Paul George Elite AAU Basketball Organization.
Tristan possesses impressive size and ball-handling skills, both important aspects for performance on the court. His developing jumper highlights the potential to develop into a scoring player.
His ability as a connective passer shows he has a sense of teamwork and coordination. Tristan is said to be a good rebounder too. On the defensive end, his energy and general basketball sense stood out. The youngster also showed noticeable improvement with each game.
Meanwhile, Tajh Ariza, the older son, is already among the top recruits in his class. Last Thursday, the small forward delivered a standout performance to lead his team to a 68-58 victory over Palisades in a pivotal Western League matchup.
Tajh showcased his scoring prowess with 21 points, including nine in a decisive fourth quarter that secured the win.
Westchester started strong with an early 8-0 lead but faltered, conceding 19 consecutive points before regaining their footing. His teammates also contributed to the win, Jordan Ballard with 17 points, among which nine were in the fourth quarter. Ty Ingram also tallied a total of 14 points.
