Kiyan Anthony and Carmelo Anthony are among the best basketball father-son duos. They are often seen together at various events, games and YouTube videos and share an extremely close bond. The Long Island Lutheran player also named his father among the league's top shooters.
In another YouTube video titled "One-on-one with Kiyan Anthony," uploaded by Rivals Video on Tuesday, Anthony was present at the USA Basketball junior minicamp in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He talked about how influential his father, 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, has been in his basketball career.
This is what Anthony said when the interviewer asked about his father's mentorship (1:59 - 2:19):
"I feel like now that he retired, he really dedicated basically his life to just supporting me and coming to all of my trips, all of my basketball stuff, even if it's not basketball, he's still there, so I'm forever grateful for that.
"Then he just always keeps me in the gym, he makes sure that my mind doesn't go anywhere else, so I feel like without him I don't know if I would be back invited in this camp."
The camp began on Oct. 11 and saw 76 of the top high school basketball players assemble and showcase their skills in front of NBA scouts and executives.
Anthony is the No. 34 prospect in the country and ranks at the eighth spot in his position and first in New York. The four-star recruit will get ready for the next season of high school basketball as the fans await a decision on his college destination.
While speaking with 247Sports, Anthony revealed when he would decide on his collegiate career:
"I'm trying to commit the first week of November. At this point, I'm just looking for my finalists to apply the ultimate pressure. Each of these schools text me, but I want them to let me know where I can fit in within the school, who else is coming at my position, and what they see for me."
Kiyan Anthony's mom, La La, calls Bronny James an "inspiration" and "family"
With their fathers, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, being great friends on and off the court, both Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony have known each other since childhood.
Anthony's mother, La La Anthony, talked about Bronny and claimed that he was an inspiration while speaking to TMZ Sports:
"He's doing his own thing," La La Anthony said. "But Bronny is an inspiration. He's in the NBA right now. He's crushing it and making history playing with his dad. That's family to us, so nothing but the best to Bronny, and Kiyan's doing his thing, too. Makes me really happy."
With Bronny James now playing in the NBA with his father in the Los Angeles Lakers, do you think we will see Kiyan Anthony play in the league also?
