His father, former NBA All-Star Jermaine O'Neal Sr., posted a heartwarming and inspirational message for his son as he goes through his senior season in high school.

"One day at a time, brick by brick. Tune out the noise and keep building your story young bull! @jermaineonealjr," he wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Jermaine O'Neal is a six-time NBA All-Star who is best known for playing for the Portland Trailblazers and the Indiana Pacers.

He won the NBA's Most Improved Player award in 2002 and even became the franchise player for the Pacers, leading the team to the best record in the NBA. He also had the franchise record for wins during the 2003-04 season.

His son, Jermaine O'Neal Jr., has decided to take his talents to SMU, choosing the Texas school over Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri and Vanderbilt. He is ranked No. 100 nationally by ESPN and the No. 25 small forward for the Class of 2025.

Jermaine O'Neal Jr. and Dynamic Prep to compete at the Memphis Hoopfest in January

Meanwhile, Junior will be having his hands full soon after 2025 begins, as he and Dynamic Prep will be participating in the Memphis Hoopfest in January.

The basketball event will also feature another NBA legacy in Bryce James, son of LeBron James, as he will be playing for California powerhouse team Sierra Canyon. However, Dynamic Prep and Sierra Canyon would not be scheduled to face one another.

Dynamic Prep will open its Hoopfest campaign against Whitehaven on Friday, Jan. 3, while Sierra Canyon will be facing Barlett that same day. Dynamic Prep will then take on Overton the next day, while Bryce James and Sierra Canyon will take on Houston later on Jan. 4, Saturday.
