Camdin Portis, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2026, has narrowed his list down to five programs, including two top SEC schools, as per On3. His final short list includes Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami and Auburn.

According to On3, the Miami Hurricanes are the favorites to land the talented four-star prospect from Charlotte, North Carolina. The Mario Cristobal-led side has a 96.7% chance of landing the 6-0 cornerback, as per the website.

Portis was scheduled to visit the Hurricanes' campus for their latest game against rivals Florida State on October 27.

Although the Hurricanes are the overwhelming favorites to acquire the four-star prospect, other teams will keep on pursuing the defenseman till he makes his final decision. Camdin's father, Clinton Portis, was the Hurricanes' running back from 1999 to 2001.

He led the team to a NCAA championship in his final year with the team and went on to play in the NFL for Denver Broncos and the Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders).

Camdin hopes to follow in his father's footsteps and play for the Hurricanes in 2026. He is currently ranked as the no. 292 prospect in the country and is the 23rd-best player at his position in the Class of 2026, as per On3. He is also the 16th-best overall recruit from the state of North Carolina.

Camdin Portis was at the USF for their game against the Miami Hurricanes

Miami has become an attractive spot for young prospects after a stellar 8-0 start to the season. One such prospect, who is on the Hurricanes' radar, is 2026 four-star recruit Camdin Portis.

The 6-0 defenseman included Miami in his final list of top schools and was in Miami to watch the Canes' latest game against the Florida State Seminoles. However, that wasn't Portis' first Miami game this year.

The North Carolina-based athlete was in South Florida earlier in the season to watch the Miami Hurricanes take on USF away from home. The game ended in a blowout victory for Mario Cristobal's men as they scored 50 points and allowed just 15 to win by 35.

Miami's Class of 2026 is currently ranked 21st in the country, as per 247Sports. The Hurricanes have landed a couple of commitments from the class in four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell and three-star quarterback Dereon Coleman.

They will hope to acquire Camdin Portis as soon as possible to bolster the rankings going forward.
