Alabama's 2025 Class is star-studded with multiple blue-chip prospects and four-star wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks is one of them. The standout from Millville High School in New Jersey is fresh off a 23-7 win over Delsea on Friday, where he made a new record.
Brooks entered the game with 191 catches for 3,984 yards and 59 touchdowns. With his performance against Delsea, he achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player in South Jersey history to surpass 4,000 receiving yards.
Brooks' journey started in 2021, when he caught his first career touchdown, a spectacular 86-yard pass. In the win against Delaware, he extended his state record for touchdowns by reaching 60.
During the 35-0 victory over Holy Spirit on August 30, the four-star prospect made headlines by breaking the all-time state record for receiving touchdowns with his 53rd catch, surpassing the previous record of 52 held by Westwood’s Nolan Borgersen since 2014.
In the game against Mainland on Sept. 13, Brooks proved his all-around skills by scoring four touchdowns, including one on defense, leading his team to a 40-7 victory. His acrobatic 18-yard touchdown catch was featured as No. 2 on SportsCenter's top-10 plays of the week.
With three games remaining against Cherokee (Oct. 18), St. Augustine Prep (Oct. 25), and Vineland (Oct. 28), along with the playoffs, Brooks is on track to break the state receiving yard record of 4,212 yards, held by Borgersen.
Lotzeir Brooks' Alabama commitment update
Alabama's 2025 class is No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference with 21 committed players. The cycle witnessed the decommitments of multiple players, including wide receiver Jaime Ffrench, linebacker Jaedon Harmon, defensive lineman Antonio Coleman and edge rusher Zion Grady, among others.
However, Lotzeir Brooks isn't the one to lose trust in the Crimson Tide in the post-Nick Saban era.
Until now, he is a "hard commit" with a 97.2% likelihood of remaining committed to the school. On3 Industry Rankings ranks him as the No. 447 overall talent in the nation, the No. 77 wide receiver in the 2025 class, and the No. 12 recruit in New Jersey.
