Four-star athlete Jae'on Young is still hearing from other colleges despite committing to the California Golden Bears in June. The latest program to extend him a scholarship is Kenny Dillingham's Arizona State.

Young shared the news on X and tagged Dillingham, ASU defensive back coach Bryan Carrington and offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo:

"AGTG. Blessed to have received an offer from Arizona State University! 🔱 Thank You @CoachBC_ & the rest of the staff for believing in me! @KennyDillingham @coacharroyo @SierraCanyonFB @bruce_bible @GregBiggins @adamgorney @ChadSimmons_ @BrandonHuffman @BlairAngulo." -Jae'on Young on X.

247 Sports lists Young as a four-star prospect, while On3, Rivals and ESPN have him as a three-star athlete. The On3 Industry Rankings has him as the No. 632 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 25 athlete in the 2025 class and the No. 46 recruit in California.

Jae'on Young appears to be a hard-commit player for the Bears' 2025 class, which ranks No. 65 in the nation with 15 committed players. However, Arizona State can continue to pursue him for a potential flip, especially given his ability to shine as a cornerback.

The Sun Devils have yet to secure a CB prospect. Their 2025 class ranks No. 50 in the nation and No. 9 in the Big 12 Conference with 18 committed players.

Jae'on Young's senior season performance so far

Jae'on Young also excels as a wide receiver but will likely play CB in college. Through eight games this season for Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, California, he has recorded 19 tackles, including 14 solo efforts and five assists, two tackles for losses, four interceptions and 10 pass defenses. On offense, he has contributed 172 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Last season, Young led Sierra Canyon to a 12-0 record before they fell to Mater Dei in the CIF playoffs. This season, the Trailblazers are 6-3 and riding a four-game winning streak, including a dominant 45-0 win over Loyola on Friday.

Sierra Canyon's only lopsided loss this year was a 35-7 defeat to JSerra Catholic on Aug. 23. The other two losses were close games against top teams: a 38-28 defeat against St. John Bosco on Sept. 7 and a 33-26 loss to Orange Lutheran on Sept. 27. The school will face Serra on Friday.
