Four-star wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery is one of the promising prospects in Florida's 2025 class. The Gators signee moved to Gainesville this week and shared his excitement on X by uploading a snap of the school's facility on Monday, with the caption:
"Showtime 🎥🍿 #LetsWork #GoGators."
Despite being committed to Florida, Montgomery visited Alabama and Louisville in November. Some thought he might back off his pledge, but he stayed true to the Gators by officially signing on Dec. 4.
“I really liked the communication and my biggest thing was playing as a freshman,” Montgomery told The Providence Journal. “I just knew Florida will give me a chance to play as a freshman and have a good quarterback with other good receivers.”
Florida's 2024 season ended with an 8-5 record. However, the addition of Naeshaun Montgomery and other talented recruits in the 2025 class has fans optimistic about the program's future.
What potential does Naeshaun Montgomery bring to Florida?
Naeshaun Montgomery is the No. 40 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 273 prospect in the nation, according to On3. Miami Central coach Jube Joseph praised the prospect, saying (via Gators Online):
"He high points the ball. His ball skills are elite. Separation at the top of the route. That is elite as well. His foot speed is second to none. He can go vertical. He can go deep."
During his senior season, Montgomery hauled in 25 catches for 537 yards and four touchdowns. Over his three-year high school career, he accumulated 66 receptions, 1,473 yards and 22 touchdowns. He can also contribute as a slot receiver, outside receiver and on special teams as a punt and kick returner.
"I’m going to get open and make the quarterback look good," Montgomery told On3. "You can put me wherever but I know I’m going to work hard and be in that starting four.”
Besides Naeshaun Montgomery, Florida has five-star Dallas Wilson, four-star Vernell Brown III and three-star Muizz Tounkara in the 2025 class' wide receiver room. The Gators this cycle have 26 committed players and have added three players via the transfer portal.
