Felix Ojo, a four-star offensive tackle from Mansfield Lake Ridge High School in Texas, is rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2026 class. He has already attracted attention from several top-tier programs, having visited Texas, TCU, Houston, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor and Alabama, among others.

Ohio State earned Ojo's visit when offensive line coach Justin Frye invited him to camp this summer on June 13. The prospect remained in contact with Frye and heaped praise on the coach.

“I feel like Coach Frye really knows what he’s doing," Ojo told On3. "In particular, he’s more of a hands-on coach, which I like. And I feel like every single one of these drills correlates to the game of football because sometimes he goes to these camps and you’re just doing random drills that you feel like they’ll actually get you better."
“I feel like every single drill Coach Frye had me in really got me better and improved on my game … just coach Frye as a person. He’s a really good person and a genuine person," Ojo added.

The positive impression extended beyond the field, as Ojo felt welcomed by the entire coaching staff.

"Just talking to all the other coaches on the staff, I felt welcomed and at home. They were just treating my family right … They love my character. They love everything about me. Like I’m the top recruit for them. I feel like our relationship and everything has been building up pretty well,” he added.

Ohio State is strongly building its 2026 class, offering multiple four-star recruits, including Jared Curtis, Brady Smigiel and Dia Bell, among others. The Buckeyes have only one commitment for the 2026 class, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and they rank 13th in the Rivals team rankings.

Texas Longhorns trending for Felix Ojo's commitment

The Texas Longhorns are currently leading the race for Felix Ojo with a 23.3% chance to secure his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. He visited the program on June 1, where he received an offer from offensive coordinator Kyle Flood.

“I like Texas a lot,” Ojo told On3. “And what they’re building over there. We have been building a great relationship."

Despite Texas' current lead, Oklahoma is not far behind, holding a 20.4% chance of landing Felix Ojo. Alabama follows with a 17.5% chance, and SMU rounds out the top four with a 7.6% chance.

Ojo is the No. 173 overall prospect, the No. 14 offensive tackle and the No. 23 prospect in Texas, according to 247 Sports. On3 ranks Ojo as the No. 31 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 54 player in Texas.

Ojo showed exceptional skills in both the run and pass games in 2023. He now aims to elevate his performance even further, setting high standards for himself in all aspects of blocking.

Felix Ojo is a multi-sport athlete, as he plays basketball and competes in track and field, boasting a discus throw of 119-4 in his sophomore season, per MileSplit.
