Four-star quarterback Trae Taylor from the Class of 2027 made his first game-day visit this season to Ole Miss to watch the Rebels defeat Furman 76-0 on Aug. 31, and has continued his trips to several other schools. This weekend, he is set to visit USC as Lincoln Riley's program is going to face No. 6 Notre Dame.
Taylor shared the news on X, tagging Riley and USC quarterbacks coach Luke Huard, as well as his high school coaches and some recruiting analysts.
"I’ll be @uscfb this weekend. I have never attended a game here so pretty excited. Let’s gooo @LincolnRiley @CoachLukeHuard."
The dual-threat quarterback has proven elite skills this season, throwing for 3,061 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 437 yards and five additional scores. His 69% completion rate shows his accuracy and poise in the pocket, making him a top target for programs like USC.
USC missed out on his top 12 list, which included Ole Miss, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, NC State, Oklahoma, Iowa, West Virginia and Illinois. However, a victory this weekend could solidify the Trojans as a serious contender in Taylor's recruitment.
The Trojans have also been actively hosting top 2027 prospects. In their 19-13 win over UCLA last week, they welcomed standout sophomores like linebacker Taven Epps and defensive lineman George Toia.
Trae Taylor raves about his Nebraska visit
Trae Taylor visited Nebraska last weekend to watch the Cornhuskers 44-25 win over Wisconsin. He summed up the experience in a post on X, writing:
"Went to @HuskerFootball thinking I was going to say I really looked at the school. And thought I’d I might be cutting my list more. Left feeling very strong about not just about the football program, but the business program I want to go into."
Nebraska already held a place on Taylor’s list of top schools, but the visit seemed to boost the Huskers as a top contender in his recruitment. Taylor highlighted key aspects of the trip, writing:
"Campus felt safe! Left Lincoln saying I definitely could see myself here. Looking forward to learning more about the program and school. Definitely one of my top choices now."
Most quarterbacks commit earlier than other positions, and Taylor can follow the trend as well. As he announced his priority list, he can make up the commitment decision in his junior season next year. For now, Michigan is leading the race for his recruitment with a 38.8% chance, according to On3.
