Four-star edge rusher Jaquavious Dodd continues gaining attention from college programs, despite being committed to South Carolina's 2025 class since June. As of now, he has received more than 20 offers, with NC State adding its name to the list on Sept. 11.
USC coach Lincoln Riley and defensive line coach Eric Henderson reached out to the prospect with an offer on Tuesday for the Trojans' 2025 class. He shared the news on X, writing,

USC has 19 players committed to the 2025 class, ranking No. 15 in the nation. The cycle features edge rusher Hayden Lowe from Oaks Christian High School in Los Angeles, California. He committed to the school over Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and Oklahoma, among others.
Dodd noted USC as his "dream school," and with his recruitment still in full swing, it will be interesting to see if the Trojans can sway him from his South Carolina commitment.
Jaquavious Dodd's athletic profile
On3’s Keegan Pope highlighted Jaquavious Dodd as one of the biggest risers, jumping from No. 140 to No. 98 in the latest rankings. With this rise, he now holds the title of the highest-rated player in South Carolina's 2025 class, which boasts 19 committed players.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect's athletic build is ideal for an edge rusher. On3 credits his combination of length, burst and fluidity, making him a standout on both pass rushes and run defense. He has been lauded by recruits for his willingness to engage in the run game.
"I think my size, length, and athleticism will be a real asset to the program," Dodd told The State about his future with South Carolina.
In On3’s rankings, Dodd is also listed as the No. 11 edge rusher nationally and the No. 2 overall recruit in South Carolina. Meanwhile, 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 53 edge rusher and No. 14 recruit in the state.
Jaquavious Dodd is coming off a junior season where he recorded 48 tackles, 24 TFL, and 12 sacks. He also plays tight end on offense and has the knack of excelling on the basketball court as well.
