Four-star offensive tackle Javeion Cooper committed to Syracuse's 2026 class. The standout from Melbourne Central Catholic High School in Florida received an offer from Fran Brown's program on Feb. 17 and made his most recent trip to New York on Nov. 30 for the school's 42-38 win over then-No. 6 Miami.

"After the Miami game, I actually committed in the locker room," Cooper told Rivals. "Like, right after the game. That thing was crazy. It was a blast!"

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Cooper is the No. 181 prospect in the nation, the No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, and the No. 28 recruit in Florida, according to On3. Rivals placed him as the No. 53 offensive tackle in the cycle, but he is still unranked by 247Sports and ESPN.

Javeion Cooper has received scholarships from Florida State, UCF, Penn State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

Javeion Cooper shares the reasons behind his commitment to Syracuse

Javeion Cooper is the fourth committed player in Syracuse's 2026 class, joining athlete Maurice Medley, running back D'Antae Sheffey and defensive back Jaxson Gates.

"I picked them because I just love the commitment that all the players have," Cooper told Cuse Nation.

Cooper credited Fran Brown's pitch in his recruitment, saying (via On3):

“I like Coach Fran because he’s a hard-working man and he wants you to be the best at what you want to be. Whatever you want to do, even if it’s not football, he wants you to succeed and continue to do great as you get older and have children. I love how he coaches there. I feel like that’s where I want to be.”

Syracuse's 2026 class was hit with a blow when its only consensus four-star prospect Izayia Williams de-committed from the school in August. The linebacker is now leaning toward Florida State and Miami.

However, the Orange are still in the mix for multiple promising prospects like quarterback Peyton Falzone, wide receiver Welman Crooms, cornerback Demari Clemons and safety Koby Sarkodie, among others.

Syracuse has also received two commitments in the 2027 class: quarterback Justin Dixon and athlete Tank White.
