Rising high school basketball star Hamiley Arenas has been carrying the Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) Knights even though she is still a freshman. On Monday, she dropped 30 points against Newbury Park in a 72–48 win, ending the Knights' four-game losing streak.
On Tuesday on Instagram, Hamiley's mother and former reality show star Laura Govan posted highlights of her game and captioned it:
"Another 30 piece @hamileyarenas."
Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) had previously lost to Louisville, Marlborough, Dos Pueblos and Harvard Westlake. The Knights are now 11-8 in the rankings following the win.
Govan shared eight stories regarding Hamiley Arenas on her Instagram account. Hamiley has shown that she is also a prolific scorer like her former NBA All-Star dad, Gilbert Arenas. She dropped 28 points during the team's loss against Louisville on Tuesday and had 28 points during the loss to Dos Pueblos on Jan. 4.
The freshman star averages 22.8 points, 3.3 assists, 12.7 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 0.9 blocks per game, which means she averages a double-double every game. Govan is a common sight during her games.
Hamiley Arenas to face No. 1 ranked 2026 prospect Jerzy Robinson and Sierra Canyon in her next game
Hamiley Arenas and the Notre Dame Knights will next face their toughest opponent yet, Sierra Canyon, led by double-double machine and No. 1 junior Jerzy Robinson. This will be the first meeting between Sierra Canyon and Notre Dame, and the game is scheduled for Tuesday.
Sierra Canyon is on a 13-game winning streak with Robinson leading the way. The school has also dominated Marlborough and Louisville, who previously defeated the Knights.
After the game against the red-hot Sierra Canyon, the Knights will have a rematch against Louisville on Thursday. Then, on Saturday, Hamiley will take on her brother Alijah's school, Chatsworth. They will then play two games against Chaminade: an away game on Monday and a home game on Jan. 29.
Notre Dame's rematch against Sierra Canyon is on Feb. 5.
