Melli Monaco, the fiancee of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, was impressed by his son's performance against Sherwood. Alijah Arenas led the Chatsworth (California) Chancellors to a 68-59 win on Monday in the Capital City Classic in Salem, Oregon.
The shooting guard stole the ball and made a full-court pass, dribbled past four players and finished tough layups in a video uploaded by Home Team Hoops on Instagram on Monday. His stepmother, Melli Monaco, reacted to his performance in the comments section.

In the previous game against Wilsonville, Arenas recorded a triple-double with 25 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the Chancellors to a 75-45 win.
Arenas, ranked No. 15 overall by ESPN, has had a fantastic stint at Chatsworth High School. He entered his junior year this season. However, after reclassifying the Class of 2025 from the 2026 class, this season will be his last in high school. He has played 66 games, averaging 31.5 points, 2.7 assists, 8.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
He showed steady improvement from his freshman year to his sophomore year. He averaged 33.0 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.3 spg and 0.9 bpg in 35 games last season. In his freshman year in 2022-23, Arenas played 27 games, averaging 30.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.4 spg and 1.6 bpg.
He also represented the Compton Magic in the Adidas 3SSB circuit at the 17U level. For the Magic, Arenas averaged 21.4 ppg while shooting 48.0%, including 24.3% from beyond the arc.

Alijah Arenas' 13-year-old brother Aloni Arenas went viral after a video of him converting buckets against high school players went online. He is the fourth child of Gilbert Arenas who plays basketball.
Playing for the Compton Magic, Aloni Arenas delivered a 34-point performance on Oct. 27. Arenas shared highlights of his game on his Instagram story which were later reshared by Melli Monaco with a three-word reaction.
