Ranked fourth in the 2026 ESPN 60, Alijah Arenas is among the most exciting prospects in the Class of 2026. Alijah and his father, Gilbert Arenas, talked about work ethic, consistency and more in an interview on Susosu Water's YouTube channel on Tuesday.
When the interviewer asked Arenas about who his son's gameplay reminds him of, the former NBA player said:
"When people ask me what type of game he has, I mean it's a mixture of Kyrie Irving's dribbling, I'm putting in a little bit of Devin Booker's pullup game. I'm pulling from the great, adding it and giving it to him so it's this combo mix up of everything." [10:26]
Alijah Arenas was also asked about lessons he learned from his father.
"Probably just working hard," he said. "I feel if I work the hardest, everything I want to do will just come to me easier then. Everything I've always wanted to do, I just have time for now, so I feel like he really did that a lot."
In his freshman season in 2022-23, Alijah played 27 games and averaged 30.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per game.
In his sophomore year, he improved his offensive performance. He averaged 33.0 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.3 spg in 35 games.
What did Alijah Arenas learn from LeBron James?
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard said he visited the Los Angeles Lakers locker room after a game and looked at LeBron James' locker.
"I feel like all the top players, especially those two, they are really big on being neat, on time and just seeing LeBron's locker, I could just imagine what Kobe's was. All his stuff is neat. There's nothing missing, lying around," Alijah said about his experience. "I visited his locker and all I see is just perfection, but when I see that and then I see everybody else's, that shows me that he's the leader."
Alijah has one more year before he starts his collegiate career.
