Alijah Arenas is one of the best high school basketball players today, being a five-star and playing for the Chatsworth Chancellors. Despite being the son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, he does have other favorite NBA players, as he revealed in an episode of his father's podcast.
In that video, he mentioned that his favorite player is James Harden, and his top five include Lebron James, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant and Trae Young. During the video, Gilbert interjected and called his son a "Harden-sexual." His Top 5, together with his dad's comment, has fans talking.
"Harden sexual😂😂😂😂," repeated one commenter.
"HARDEN , SHAI & (LEBRON is automatic) !!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏YESSSSSIIIIRRRRRR!!!!! AND CUZ OU CAN SEE REAL TALENT!! YOU GON BE UP THERE TOO GANG!!!!" another commenter said.
"He knows ball," replied another commenter.
Meanwhile, many agreed about him picking James Harden as his favorite, while one particular "fan" thinks Alijah Arenas is on James Harden's payroll.
"@jharden13 u have him on the payroll 😂😂 All he know is harden 💯" said one guy named Gilbert Arenas.
"Harden is a great player to study," another commenter pointed out.
"Harden is one of one," another commenter added.
Being the son of a former NBA player, Alijah Arenas had gotten the chance to train with some of the people he idolized, including Kevin Durant.
The five-star Chatsworth shooting guard announced last month that he was moving up a grade and reclassified from the Class of 2026 to the Class of 2025. His father also revealed that he will be making several official visits over the spring.
Alijah Arenas scoring two straight 40-point games not enough to stop Chatsworth's skid
Chatsworth has been on a skid as of late, as the Chancellors lost four of their last five games, including their year-ender against Etiwanda on Dec. 30. They also lost their first game of 2025 on Jan 2. against Long Beach Poly.
Alijah Arenas dropped 43 points on the Etiwanda Eagles but still lost the game 57-61 to close out 2024. A few days later, the Chancellors opened the New Year with another loss, losing a thriller against Long Beach Poly, 60-61, with Alijah scoring 40 points.
The Chancellors had been losing games despite Alijah putting up monster numbers, including scoring 56 in a loss against Prescott last month.
