Kaleena Smith is proving why she's the No. 1 recruit for the Class of 2027, putting on a show for Ontario Christian Knights fans this season. In their latest game on Saturday, Smith scored a jaw-dropping 37 points and six rebounds, leading her team to an 88–35 victory over La Jolla Country Day. Remarkably, Smith outscored the entire opposing team, a feat that left fans in awe.

SoapsCentre NEXT highlighted the achievement on Instagram on Sunday with the caption:

“EspnW No. 1 Sophomore Kaleena Smith was hitting from EVERYWHERE tonight.”

Fans flooded the comments with admiration.

“Having more points than the team is crazy work,” one wrote.

“Kaleena only being a sophomore in high school is. She is a star already! Love that though, but it still is," another wrote.

Others were equally stunned.

“Ouch … Keep putting and hurting on ’em,” one fan wrote.
“She doesn’t miss,” another wrote.

Some even compared her to one of the more experienced players, probably Aaliyah Chavez, declaring she is better.

“She is better than the #1 senior that takes 40 shots a game," one wrote
“She’s just got it. Straight like that,” another wrote.

This isn’t the first time Smith has overshadowed an entire team’s score. In December, she poured in 30 points with six assists in a 101–20 win over the Grand Terrace Titans. However, Smith isn't just a phenom but also a trailblazer becoming the first woman in high school basketball to sign an NIL deal with Adidas.

Smith has been the driving force behind Ontario Christian’s incredible season. She’s been putting up impressive numbers, averaging 23.3 points, 8.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 4.7 steals per game. Thanks to her standout performances, the Knights are currently sitting at a remarkable 23-1 record, with only one loss all season.

Sporting giant Adidas praised Kaleena Smith for her nomination to a prestigious award

Kaleena Smith continues turning heads with the Ontario Christian sophomore recently nominated for the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year award. The excitement surrounding her achievement didn’t go unnoticed by her NIL partner, Adidas.

The global brand wasted no time showing its support, jumping into the comment section of Ontario Christian’s official Instagram post with a simple yet powerful message:

“No question.”

Smith's new accolade comes after she secured a spot on the 2024 USA Women's U17 National Team and her impressive win of the 2023-2024 Girls Basketball MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year award.
