Basketball fans praised the performance of five-star recruit Darius Acuff in IMG’s (Florida) game against Dynamic Prep (Texas) on Friday. Acuff was in his bag as he dropped 30 points to lead the Ascenders to victory.
Acuff was given his flowers by fans, who were impressed with his highlight reel posted by Hoop City Films on Instagram on Saturday.

Acuff’s performance against Dynamic Prep was not the first time this season he has dropped 30+ points. He scored 38 on Dec. 20 against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy at the City of Palms Classic.
The 6-foot-1 point guard built on his performance against Dynamic Prep as he helped IMG to a 65-63 win against DME on Saturday. With back-to-back wins, IMG Academy is 16-4 this season.
Acuff and his teammates return to action on Friday when they face Balboa before a clash against Link Academy on Feb. 3.
Darius Acuff taking his talents to Arkansas
Darius Acuff, the No. 2 point guard in the 2025 class, will play for Arkansas. Acuff chose Arkansas over Kansas, Michigan, Connecticut and Houston, according to On3.
The Detroit native will team up with fellow five-star recruit Meleek Thomas, who also signed with the Razorbacks. Aside from high school basketball, Acuff played for the USA under-17 team at the 2024 FIBA Under-18 AmeriCup.
Acuff won the MVP award after averaging 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, leading USA to the gold medal.
