Jamarrion Gordon, a 2026 four-star recruit, decommitted from the University of Central Florida on Saturday. He originally pledged to UCF on Jul. 26, choosing them over Auburn, Florida, Oregon and Tennessee.

Gordon had previously flipped his commitment from the Alabama Crimson Tide to UCF but is now uncommitted and exploring other options. Reports suggest UCF coach Gus Malzahn’s departure to join Florida State’s coaching staff played a role in Gordon's decision.

On3 Recruits reported Gordon’s decommitment on X, sparking fan reactions. Most fans remained unbothered, noting the young cornerback still has time to explore his options.

"Who cares? He's a 2026 recruit. He was going to flip 2 more times, anyway," one fan said.
"If he decommitted, was he really committed??" another fan wrote.
"2026 ?? He gone change his mine again and again that’s long time to think," another fan said.

Other fans were doing their part in recruiting the four-star prospect to their favorite teams.

"Gator," one fan wrote.
"Coming back home," another fan said.
"Come to FSU Nation," another fan commented.

Jamarrion Gordon is ranked No. 323 in the country and is the 22nd-best cornerback in the Class of 2026 (per On3). He is also the 12th-best overall prospect from Alabama.

Jamarrion Gordon is leaning towards Florida after his decommitment

The four-star cornerback from Jackson High School (Alabama), Jamarrion Gordon, now holds offers from Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU and Georgia, among others.

One school that has piqued his interest is Florida. The Gators hosted him last month, and Gordon praised Billy Napier's program.

"What makes Florida so attractive to me is that I know they’re going to have a QB (DJ Lagway) when I get there and the head coach (Billy Napier) can make them a playoff contender team," he said (via On3).
"They like me at wide receiver but really love me at DB. If I go there, I’m going to play DB."

According to On3, the Gators' Class of 2026 is ranked No.15 in the country. They have acquired three commitments so far and would like to add Gordon to that list.
